Grade 8 student Barly Dinalo of PSHS-Central Visayas Campus was among the 138 elementary and high school medal haulers from the Philippines in the International Mathematics Wizard Challenge (IMWiC) held in Hong Kong from August 9-12.

Barly was one of the 89 bronze medalists of the said international contest which was also participated by China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, Indonesia, among others.  The Filipino students also won 12 gold and 37 silver medals, along with 63 merit awards, to secure second place overall behind China's 16 gold medals.

Other Pisay scholars who are also medalists in the contest include eight from Main Campus and one each from Western Visayas and Southern Mindanao campuses.

Organized by IMWiC Coordinating Council, composed of institutions, associations and individuals, IMWiC is committed to promote mathematics excellence around the world through mathematics competition.
